This week has been full of quilting, needle-point appliqué, and beading. Whew….I’m tired just thinking of all that! But what a good week being with those who share my love of all things fabric, needle, bead, and thread.
I finished a project for an embroidery class I am taking with Rebecca Devaney of Paris. I had the opportunity to visit with her on a Textile Tour of Paris in 2023. A tour that involved visiting the five oldest fabric, thread, and embellishment shops in Paris. I joined her last year for a repeat of that as well as a flea market tour that inspired me to think about ideas for a future book.
The project involves a monthly theme and hand stitching either a French poem or English poem on the theme. For February I chose a poem by W. B. Yeats and embroidered it on a vintage French linen towel.
But now I have to turn to chapter 4 in my book. Time to put the stitching down and pull a few threads together from the prior two books and start weaving them into the new story. I can feel that the book is ready to take off..I’ll keep you posted.
